Flute Catalog
New My flutes are now available tuned to 432hz. as well as 440 hz. Effective September 1st, 2010, I will be tuning all of my flutes to 432 Hz. as my standard. If you want a flute tuned to 440 Hz. (concert tuning) please specify it with your order, either on Paypal check out in the "Instructions to merchant" line, or go to my "Contact Us" page and e-mail me directly.
As of January 1, 2012, my Flute Catalog has a new look. In the past, I have made flutes, taken pictures of each one and posted them in the catalog. As each flute sold I would mark it sold. This worked well until all, or most all of the flutes sold, and then I would have to repeat the process. In addition, I might make a flute in a certain key and a customer would prefer a different key. As I maintain the site myself, this process has become difficult. I am a flute maker, not a computer guru, and I want to make flutes and get them to their caretakers, and not spend time sitting in front of my computer. Therefore, I have redesigned the way I work as well as the catalog.
Instead of making flutes and picturing each in the catalog, I now maintain a stock of flute blanks in the various woods. When a customer orders a flute in a particular wood and key, I simply grab an appropriate blank and finish the flute. Please allow one week for me to finish your custom flute. Should I happen to be extra busy I will contact you by e-mail with an estimated completion time. Thank you for understanding.
Over the years I have been making flutes, I have found it best to talk with a perspective flute "caretaker" before finalizing an order and I still like to do that. However, I have also found that getting back to people can be cumbersome, so I have added a shopping cart and a secure payment system. You can still contact me directly by visiting the "contact us" page, or you can use the shopping cart and pay via a credit card through Pay pal. Either way, your information remains safe and secure.
Payment options To order a flute, please choose one of the following options.
1. Simply click on the "add to cart" button next to the desired flute and follow the steps to pay using Paypal. (Best way)
2. Jot down the flute number and description, go to the "contact us" page and fill out the requested information. I will then contact you at your specified time and we can finalize the order.
3. Contact me via phone at (603) 968-2171. You will probably have to leave a message, as this is the home phone. I will get back to you as soon as possible. We are usually around between noon and 1:00 pm eastern time or before 8:00 am.
4. Order by mail, including a check made out to Raven Song Flutes, a money order or credit card number. I now accept Visa, Master card, Discover and American Express. Include the card number, expiration date and the three digit security code on the back of the card next to the signature block. Also the name and mailing address of the person on the card. All flutes come with a fleece bag. Should you desire a leather bag, I recommend you use the fleece bag as an inner liner to prevent oils from the leather from damaging the finish on your flute.

I have eliminated Spalted Maple flutes from the catalog even though they have been one of my best selling flutes. I still make them, however good Spalted Maple is difficult to find and I do not always have it on hand. If you are interested in purchasing one, contact me and we can discuss the possibility.
The size of a flutes varies with the key. The lower the key, the longer the flute. The lengths listed for each flutes are approximate as each flutes is made individually and the final length can vary as much as one half inch for each key.

Children's flutes.
These flutes are made of Aromatic Cedar and all flutes are in the key of G. Each is tuned to both mode 1 and mode 4 pentatonic. The playing holes are placed a little closer together for small hands. These flutes do not come with a bag.

Plain, undecorated flutes
These flutes are made of Aromatic Red Cedar and hardwoods, Soft Maple, Black Walnut, Black Cherry and Mahogany. They are available in the Keys of A, G, F#, F and E, and are crafted in the same careful manner as the decorated flutes but are intended for individuals who desire less decoration while still getting top of the line craftsmanship and excellent sound quality.

If you are looking for a flute with a little more decoration or just to add something new to your flute collection, then an Inlay flute could be your answer. Real wood inlay carefully inserted into a variety of woods mainly from the Northeastern part of the United States, these flutes are crafted with great care and have excellent sound.

Decorated Flutes
These flutes are really beautiful and they sound as good as they look. Made of a variety of woods mainly from the North Eastern part of the United States, they have real wood inlay as well as being ringed with Turquoise and Pipestone. Special Beaded Flutes
These flutes are made to order. Right now, they are only available in the key specified. This is because of the space required for the beading. There is three inches and four inches of beading specified in the flute description. The beading requires ten hours per inch. The beading is in peyote or brick stitch. I realize they are expensive because of the time to do the beading, however, they are very beautiful flutes and will do honor to any flute collection.
The order process is as follows: A fifty percent, non-refundable deposit is required with the order. Allow four to six weeks for delivery. Click on the "add to cart" button. Paypal will accept only the deposit and send me the order. I will begin making your flute. When complete, I will notify you by e-mail or telephone if you prefer. You then come back to this site and click on the "add to cart"" button again. Paypal will accept the balance and I will ship the flute to you via USPS Priority mail. Please allow four to six weeks for delivery.
